Juana Manahan-Yupangco has been an advocate of healthy eating using locally sourced products and produce for many years now. Her passion has since led her to found Mesa ni Misis, an organization that promotes health and nutrition on a budget.
According to Yupangco, her advocacy stemmed from frustration over how costly healthy cooking can be. Many of the recipes she would find online required fresh ingredients not readily available for one, and if they are, would come at a very high price.
