THE Department of Agriculture (DA) has set aside P200 million worth of loans for coconut farmers and vowed government efforts to establish direct market linkages between coconut producers, traders and millers to eliminate profiteering middlemen.

In a statement on Monday, Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC), an attached agency of the DA, will be the implementing body of the credit facility which will be coming from the existing loan funds of the Production Loan Easy Access (PLEA).
