UNTIL the start of the campaign period in February next year, candidates in the 2019 mid-term polls are free to air their ads and tack their posters, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Comelec spokesman James Jimenez issued the clarification on Wednesday, saying even if a candidate would print the words “vote for” in his or her posters or tarpaulins and even in television and radio paid advertisements, “it is not a violation.”
