AN official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday tendered his resignation as chairman of a technical committee tasked to review a software program for the elections in 2019 after an inappropriate image appeared on his computer during a presentation over the weekend in one of the universities in Manila.

"I regret but I have to take responsibility. It was our committee that arranged that event and that sort of event should have been better handled," said Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez who stepped down as chairman of the source code review, which had a kickoff ceremony at the De La Salle University along Taft.
