A consultant for the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) for the peace negotiations with the government eluded arrest in Teresa, Rizal on Tuesday, a military official said.
Brig. Gen. Arnulfo Burgos Jr., commander of the Army’s 202nd Infantry Brigade, said troops were about to arrest Tirso Alcantara alias “Ka Bart”, a former commander of the New People’s Army (NPA), and Armando Lazarte alias Pat/Romano, secretary of the NPA’s Sub-Regional Military area in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon).
