OLONGAPO CITY: A Quezon City court ordered a status quo on the Department of Interior and Local Government’s serving of a notice of suspension to Olongapo City officials whom the Ombudsman earlier ordered suspended for six months for alleged irregularity in the awarding of a lease contract of a government property to SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SMPHI).

Judge Ralph Lee, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 83, gave both the petitioners and respondent 15 days to submit their respective memorandum in support of their arguments before the court could rule on the issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order sought by Mayor Rolen Paulino and 15 other incumbent and former Olongapo city officials.
