THE Department of Agriculture (DA) is pushing for the importation of 300,000 metric tons (MT) of corn amid a supply shortfall and as it expects the local hog and poultry industry to grow rapidly.
In a statement, Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said his department was waiting for Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez 3rd to approve the move.
