De La Salle University Medical Center offers free head and neck cancer screening

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology (head and neck surgery) of the De La Salle University Medical Center (DLSUMC) is offering free head and neck cancer screening through the use of its new flexible video endoscopy system.

DLSUMC acquired the state-of-the-art facility in April 2018. It is capable of doing video stroboscopic evaluation for evaluation of voice disorders (a first in the Southern Tagalog region), nasopharyngoscopy for sinusitis and tumor screening, laryngoscopy for evaluation of voice and vocal cord function, fiber-optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing for swallowing-impaired patients, and head and neck cancer screening via flexible endoscopy of the upper aerodigestive tract.
