DETAINED Sen. Leila de Lima has sought an investigation into the alleged sex-for-freedom (or palit-puri) scheme some policemen have resorted to on their prisoners’ relatives.
De Lima filed Senate Resolution 930 urging the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, citing a recent incident of rape involving a teenager who was taken advantage of by a police officer who promised to free her parents who were detained on drug charges.
