An agreement aimed at providing internet services in rural areas has been signed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), National Electrification Administration (NEA) and the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association (Philreca).

Under the memorandum of agreement (MoU) signed last Friday, the DICT has tapped electric cooperatives for the “last mile” of the government’s National Broadband Plan (NBP).
