The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is pushing for its case against five steel mills accused of emitting high air pollution levels that pose serious hazards to public health and the environment.

The agency recently investigated into the activities of five steel companies following complaints over their alleged violation of labor and environmental laws, particularly the Clean Air Act or Republic Act No. 8749.
