Devotees pay homage to Bicol’s religious icons

FOR centuries now, pilgrims from all walks of life have been visiting the Bicol Region’s two most famous religious icons — Nuestra Señora de Salvacion in Tiwi, Albay, and Our Lady of Peñafrancia in Naga City, Camarines Sur.

Nuestra Señora de Salvacion, also known as Our Lady of Light, is the much-venerated wooden image of Ina crowned by the Catholic Church as the patroness of Albay province 243 years ago.
