The Department of Finance (DoF) is looking to raise P13.5 billion from the issuance of retail Treasury bonds to fund ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in Marawi City, which was devastated by a months-long siege by the Islamic State-inspired Maute Group last year.

In a statement on Tuesday, the department said the issuance would have an appropriations cover of the same amount, based on the P10 billion allotted this year under the national budget for the Bangon Marawi Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Recovery Program (BMCRRP), and another P3.5 billion for 2019.
