CORRUPTION was one of the reasons why the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) was scrapped as a requirement in the Philippines' basic education program, a lawmaker at the House of Representatives said, as he urged the Department of National Defense to look into this before it is brought back.

ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro on Monday recalled President Rodrigo Duterte's admission in 2017 that he submitted a fake medical certificate to be exempted from the course because he didn't want to be shouted at.
