CONTRARY to an earlier position taken by the Department of Justice (DoJ), President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday night said he did not see the need to sign an executive order (EO) to enforce a ban on casino operations in Boracay.
In his visit on Thursday night, Duterte said he could simply issue a verbal order restricting casinos in Boracay, citing concerns that gambling facilities spawn crimes such as illegal drug trading and kidnapping.
