President Rodrigo Duterte has long made his antagonism plain. He has wished the 48-year-old ex-naval officer Sen. Antonio Trillanes 4th dead, or disappeared, preferably both. On numerous occasions, Duterte has spoken quite candidly. Last year in September, talking like a psycho-mafia-godfather, he said: “All I have to do is get the goods on him. He’s getting to be too much…He is bent on destroying me. So, I destroy him, or he will destroy me. That’s how it goes.” Capisce. In June, Duterte warned, “there will come a day that someone will shoot” Trillanes. Last Tuesday, Duterte voided the senator’s amnesty and ordered the police to arrest him.
