SENATOR Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Monday called on the government to help make sure that migrant workers affected by the runway accident at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) would not get in trouble with their employers abroad.

Escudero, a member of the Senate Committee Labor, Employment and Human Resources Development, said that apart from assistance with airline companies in rebooking, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), should also help these overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) explain the delay so that employers would understand the situation.
