Computer gaming has evolved from its simplest form in the 1950s when its inventors realized that there was more to computer than mere academic use. Computer innovators and scientists began designing basic computer games and models, perhaps to give additional interest to its use. Early games designed in the 1960s were “Spacewar” and “Galaxian.” Then came Atari games in the 1970s, PacMan in the 1980s and so on. These caught the eye of many computer programmers and game innovators after realizing the interest and possible market it created and would continue to create.

Whereas before computer games were created as a mere supplement to the main objective of computerization, which is ease and advancement in knowledge generation, it seems that this objective has taken a backseat if not of equal interest with what now has become an era of computer gaming which the new millennium calls “esports.”
