INFLATION in the country is forecast to ease below 2 percent this month and 1.3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2019, according to First Metro Investment Corp. (FMIC) and the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P).
In the July edition of their Market Call report, FMIC and UA&P identified base effects, and lower prices of rice and other food items as contributors to the downtrend in consumer price growth.
