The Philippines bagged its first gold medal in the history of the Asian Para Games, which are being held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Sunday night, during the first day of competition.

Rio 2016 Paralympic swimmer Ernie Gawilan submitted two minutes and 52.43 seconds to rule the men’s 200-meter individual medley for class SM7 at the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatics Center in Jakarta.
