Despite their imprisonment, persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) can continue their studies through the Alternative Learning System (ALS) and ALS Informal Education (InfEd) programs of the Department of Education (DepEd).
This was what 820 PDLs at the Manila City Jail did, and on Monday, with their families, they received their diploma on ALS and ALS InfEd.
