THE House of Representatives approved on third and final reading a bill seeking to protect children from all forms of violence and maltreatment.
With a vote of 164-1, lawmakers on Monday night approved House Bill 8239 or the Positive and Non-Violent Discipline of Children Act, which mandates that children shall not be subjected to “any form of physical, humiliating, or degrading acts of punishment in homes, schools, institutions, alternative care systems, and other places where there is direct contact with them.”
