House OKs tax amnesty bill on 2nd reading

The House of Representatives approved on second reading the bill that seeks to enhance revenue administration and tax collection, which is part of the comprehensive tax reform program under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Ways and Means Committee Chairman Estrellita Suansing, sponsor of House Bill 8544 or the Tax Amnesty Act of 2018, said the bill gives erring taxpayers the chance “to come forward, start with a clean slate, and be 100 percent tax compliant in the future.”
