TROPICAL depression "Karding" (international name: Yagi) has intensified into a tropical storm, according to the state-run weather bureau on Wednesday.
In its 5 p.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Karding was estimated at 1,220 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
