LA UNION will be included in the Philippine National Police's (PNP) list of election hotspots, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Oscar Albayalde said on Thursday, a day after a vice mayor and his aide were ambushed and killed.

"For obvious reasons, we're going to include La Union in our hotspots. We just don't know if the Comelec (Commission on Elections) will decide on [whether] to have a control in the elections there," he told reporters in a gun exhibit show.
