THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has been no stranger to controversy over the years, but the spectacle of one of the agency’s officials publicly accusing another of fraud in a Senate hearing is beyond the pale. The Duterte administration should take a long, hard look at the performance of the LTFRB and act swiftly to restore its credibility.

In the latest scandal, LTFRB Board Member Aileen Lizada accused LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra of falsifying a department circular in order to exempt a large number of provincial buses from ending their routes at the new Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), allowing them to continue to ply their routes along Edsa.
