THE Department of Energy (DoE) and the European Union (EU) formally launched seven renewable energy (RE) projects aimed at energizing 40,000 households in the country, particularly in far-flung areas of Mindanao.

In a statement, the DoE said the EU, through the Access to Sustainable Energy Program (ASEP), will contribute €21 million to co-finance up to 80 percent of the projects.
