LISTED Manila Electric Co.’s (Meralco) consolidated core net income jumped by 9 percent to P16.7 billion in the first three quarters of 2018 from P15.4 billion in the same period last year on the back of strong sales and increased number of customers.

At the power giant’s third-quarter briefing in Pasig City on Monday, Meralco Chief Finance Officer Betty Siy-Yap said consolidated revenues increased by 6 percent to P227.4 billion because of higher generation charges.
