Some areas in Metro Manila and Bulacan province were hit by rotating brownouts on Tuesday, as several power plants went offline or operated at a limited capacity.

The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) said a power shortage prompted it to implement rotational brownouts or Manual Load Dropping in portions of Caloocan City, Malabon City and Navotas City in Metro Manila, as well as in Calumpit, Hagonoy, Malolos City and Plaridel in Bulacan.
