The National Privacy Commission (NPC) is looking to secure legislative approval for the “power to issue fines” against violators of Data Privacy Act.
NPC head Raymund Enriquez Liboro told reporters on Friday that the agency might file the proposal before Congress within the year but declined to provide more details.
