A militant group staged a protest against alleged police and military harassment and raised fears that a victory by candidates of President Rodrigo Duterte would be a prelude to a nationwide declaration of martial law.
The Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) marched from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), to Camps Aguinaldo and Crame and ended up at the Mendiola Bridge near Malacanang Palace on Monday.
