Undernutrition has been a pressing issue in the Philippines. According to the Nutrition Research Institute, 31.2 percent of children ages 5 to10 years old are underweight. Due to this, global food company Mondelez Philippines has partnered with Rise Against Hunger (RAHP), an organization that is committed to providing food and life-saving aid to the underprivileged.

Shanahan Chua, head of corporate and government affairs of Mondelez Philippines expressed her excitement with the partnership. “We have similar goals of helping families and communities to receive good nutrition and avoid hunger. Together with Rise Against Hunger Philippines, we hope to extend our well-being efforts to more Filipino families and help address the issue of malnutrition. We are extremely excited about this partnership since it’s a great extension of our Joy Schools community program,” she shared.
