Donnie Nietes has earned another chance to become a four-division world champion before the year ends as he battles Japanese Kazuto Ioka on December 31 for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) super flyweight belt at the Wynn Palace in Cotai, Macau, China.

After a disappointing split decision draw with fellow Filipino Aston Palicte last September 8 in the US for that WBO title, the 36-year-old Philippines’ longest reigning world boxing champion vowed to become a world champion again at the start of 2019.
