ONLY one of three telecommunications firms bidding to be third major player in the industry passed the preliminary evaluation, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) said on Wednesday.

The Mislatel Consortium of Dennis Uy’s Udenna Corp. and state-owned China Telecom completed the requirements, allowing it to proceed to the next level, where a detailed screening of the bid will take place, the NTC said.
