WAR is a horrible thing, because it destroys lives and property mercilessly, as many of our forefathers and some of us have personally experienced not so long ago. Trade, on the other hand, was supposed to enable different regions of the world to produce (by means of agriculture or industry) the kinds of goods and services which they excel at, and exchange the latter so that all of us can consume not only what we produce, but what our neighbors produce too, as we are all in a global village called earth. For example, trade enables those of us in the tropics to enjoy vegetables grown in regions with a temperate climate, and the folks in the latter to sample our colorful tropical fruits.
