SOME P50 million worth of smuggled rice and cigarettes were seized in Zamboanga by joint operatives of the Bureau of Customs (BoC), the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

The contrabands, consisting of 55,000 sacks of rice and 85 cartons of cigarettes, were recovered in various warehouses and in vessels off the coast of Zamboanga.
