MALACAÑANG is confident that the latest communication filed against President Rodrigo Duterte for alleged crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court (ICC) will not prosper.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. insisted that the ICC has no jurisdiction to try Duterte because of the "complementarity principle," which means that the international court should only act on a case if the courts in a particular member country are not functioning.
