Malacañang is hopeful the Senate will pass the Rice Tariffication Bill within the month amid the increasing prices of commodities and the developing rice crisis in some areas in Mindanao.

In a radio interview, Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. said he believed that Sen. Cynthia Villar, Senate’s Committee on Agriculture and Food chairman, would keep her promise to pass the proposed measure within the month.
