Philippine economic growth is expected to stay strong despite rising headwinds but authorities need to act versus downside risks, analysts said on Thursday.

Speaking at the Financial Executives of the Philippines’ year-end economic briefing, International Finance Corp. (IFC) principal investment officer Valentino Bagatsing said the country’s medium-term growth outlook remained positive, with a 6.5-percent expansion likely for 2018.
