State-owned Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) said it had launched a “corporate-wide intensive fraud detection” initiative following reports of a “ghost dialysis” scandal.

After President Rodrigo Duterte warned that he could overhaul PhilHealth’s leadership and staffing, acting President and Chief Executive Officer Roy Ferrer said “economic saboteurs” were already being investigated by the National Bureau of Investigation and other authorities.
