PHILIPPINE National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde’s statement on Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos being "too old" to be monitored amid a pending warrant of arrest following her conviction for corruption was "taken out of context," a spokesman said on Tuesday.

"He (Albayalde) said we have to consider the age and health of Rep. Marcos in the manner we prepare and execute the arrest of the convicted person," said Chief Supt. Benigno Durana following criticisms that Albayalde did not deploy police to prepare for the possible arrest of Mrs. Marcos because of her age and health.
