THE Philippine National Police (PNP) confiscated a total of 1,025 firearms from 96 private security agencies that were ordered to cease operations in 2018, Director General Oscar Albayalde said on Monday.

Albayalde said the confiscation of these firearms was part of the campaign of the PNP against loose firearms as contained in the eight-point side plan of the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigative Agencies (SOSIA).
