The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) closes its season with an interesting program at the movies on April 11, 8 p.m. at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater) under the baton of Maestro Olivier Ochanine.

The program features some popular classics from the film music repertoire, including scores written for films and classical music written long ago but made famous through films.  Music includes ‘Morning’ from Grieg’s Peer Gynt, selections from “E.T.” and “The Good, the Bad & The Ugly”, as well as the stunning “Also Sprach Zarathustra” of Richard Strauss, whose 150th birth anniversary will be commemorated in 2014, and whose prelude is known by all for its inclusion in the film “2001: A Space Odyssey”.  The audience has the golden opportunity to hear the wonderful piece in its entirety.
