MAJORITY of Filipinos will support candidates in next year's election who will push for an increase in the tax on cigarettes, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Monday.

The poll from September 1 to 7 showed that 64 percent of respondents would vote for candidates in favor of increasing tobacco taxes, while only 15 percent will reject them.
