THE 45-day campaign period for local candidates in 17 regions in the country kicks off this Friday for more than 18,000 positions for congresssman, governor, vice governor, mayor, vice mayor and provincial city and town councils.
Local bets are expected to drum up various gimmicks to jumpstart their campaign until May 11, or two days before the midterm elections on May 13.
