SENATE Minority Leader Franklin M. Drilon on Thursday pushed for the need to scrutinize the 29 deals and bilateral agreements the government signed with China, citing the country’s experience with the graft-ridden multi-million dollar North Luzon Railways (Northrail) Project and the NBN-ZTE deal, which are too recent to be forgotten.

Taking into account the grossly disadvantageous contracts that the government had previously signed with China, Drilon said it was imperative that these new deals be assessed on whether they were consistent with the Constitution and our laws.
