THE Office of Civil Defense (OCD) ordered a halt to retrieval operations in landslide-hit Cebu and Benguet, authorities said on Tuesday.
Concepcion Ornopia, director for the OCD in Western Visayas, said the decision to stop search and rescue operations in Naga, Cebu was discussed among officials in the regional and local levels and was based on the assessment of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) that the ground was too soft to continue the retrieval operations.
