THE Senate Committee on Public Services wants airport authorities to explain the runway mishap that resulted in the cancellation, delay and diversion of hundreds of international and domestic flights affecting thousands of passengers.

On Sunday, ramp controllers had a difficult time arranging or giving instructions to foreign pilots where to park, with the reopening of the main gateway’s runway 06/24 on Saturday noon following the removal of a Xiamen Air jet that overshot the runway late Thursday.
