“PROGRESS and Revolution 1837-1897” is one of the earliest historiographies of the 1898 Philippine Revolution. It is Chapter 9 in A History of the Philippines, the textbook used in Philippine public high schools during the American occupation. It was one of the earlier tools used by the United States to shape a Filipino mindset dependent on America.
