FOREIGN Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano announced on Thursday that the time to process passport applications will now be shorter starting in October 1.

Cayetano said applicants from the DFA consular offices in Metro Manila who paid P950 for the regular processing of their passports have only 12 days from 15 to wait for their release while those who paid P1,200 for express processing now have only six days to wait instead of seven.
